What documents do I need to enter Thailand?

Since May 1st, Thailand has replaced the traditional paper immigration form with a convenient digital arrival card (Thailand Digital Arrival Card – TDAC). This change applies to all travelers entering the country by air, land, or sea.
What does this mean for you?
The introduction of the TDAC aims to simplify entry formalities and speed up border crossings. Additionally, the Thai government expects to increase security through better traceability of travelers.
Key points about the Thailand Digital Arrival Card:
Online Registration: You can easily apply through the TDAC internet portal.
Observe the deadline: Please complete the online form within 72 hours before your planned arrival in Thailand.
Free of charge: Registration is free until further notice.
Validity: The registration is valid only for your current trip.
Accommodation: When providing your first accommodation in Thailand, a complete address is required. Stating only the hotel name and city is not sufficient.

Besides the digital arrival card, there are other developments that might be relevant for your future trips to Thailand:
Tourist fee from Winter 2025: After multiple postponements, a tourist fee is now expected to be levied starting next winter. For air travelers staying longer than 24 hours in the country, this will be 300 Baht (approx. 8 Euros). For entry by land or sea, 150 Baht (approx. 4 Euros) is planned. Payment is expected to be linked to the digital arrival card in the future. The revenue will be used for projects promoting sustainable and high-quality tourism.
Tightening of visa regulations: After the visa-free stay for tourist purposes was extended to 60 days after the Corona crisis, a tightening of this regulation is imminent.
